    Hi ..
Like with your site I have come diff sites where they have listed Alexander Munroe b 1857 married to Catherine Moar(daughter of Hebron and Louisa) ..Yes Catherine married an Alexander Munroe but his middle initial was D (Duncan) born 1824 and worked for the HBC. There was an 18 year diff in their ages..him being older. Their daughter Christina Flora was my great grandmother.

Unfortunately with all the Alexander Munro(e)s it is very easy to confuse them see HBC link he was born Sept 1842…

Thank you Troy, your correction is much appreciated — although it looks like I need to do some more sorting out before my confusion is cleared up 🙂

        Hello again..

No problem..I understand completely about sorting out..and dead ends..should you have any problems or dead ends as well..let me know and together we may come up with the answer. Thou I do know Alexander was born 1842 am yet to find any of his relatives..am told he stayed with a brother when he came but was listed as a son and not brother on the census so does make for confusion. My great grandmother was listed as Violet C which I thought was just misread as her middle name starts with a T (hand written T and C could easily be confused) but the next census shows her as Violet Christena now the next daughter born in the family was named Christena…I find that happened in more than one branch of the family. Again ..thanks for your site and should you want any help feel free to email me.
        Kindest regards
        Tory

    Hi
Just noticed you have transposed the last 2 numbers on Alexanders Munros year of birth…it was 1842 not 1824.

  3. Cameron Parenteau-Catcheway says:

Victoria Parenteau was born March 4, 1919, daughter of St Pierre Joshua Parenteau and Virginie Chartrand. Victoria’s sister Catherine Betsy Parenteau born March 5, 1911 (she just turned 101 years on March 5, 2012) married a John Munroe.
